How To Put Music On PSP - Step By Step Guide

One of the features available in PSP is the ability to play music files namely MP3 format. Certain PSP will also be able to play other types of music files such as Window very own WMA and WMV format, but we will get into that later. However these are restricted to newer version of PSP. This is a rundown on how to put music on PSP.

The steps taken is no different than transferring any files from your PC to PSP memory stick. In order to put music on PSP you will require a USB cable.

This is how you put music on PSP:

1. Connect your PSP with your PC using the USB cable.

2. Use your PSP interface and hit HOME button, and then go into "Settings". Here you will have to use
the directional button to find "USB Connection"

3. Once the connection is made, you will need to check your PCs available drives. You can do this by
going into "My Computer". Your PC should detect your PSP as and additional drive. It is not much
different from using portable drive or thumb drives actually.

4. Click on your assigned PSP drive.

5. Create a new folder call "music" on your PSP drive

6. Select your MP3 music from your PC and drag it into your "music" folder on your PSP. Note that all
this is done in your PC interface.

7. When all the desired MP3 are transferred, get out of the USB connection mode by pressing "O" on
your PSP.

8. Find the music area in your PSP, and select your memory stick. Search for your "music" folder and
you are good to go.

If you have other types of music format in your PC, i.e. WMV or WMA, you will need a converter to convert those files to MP3 format. Do not fret though, as Sony will also supply PSP user with its very own Image Converter. You can easily convert WMA and WMV files format into MP3 format and just repeat the whole process on how to put music on PSP.

On the other hand if you want to play WMV and WMA files without converting your files to MP3, you can always update your PSP firmware to the latest firmware. However, I would not recommend this (upgrading your PSP firmware) as it will severely limit your PSP experience. Some of the effect of upgrading your PSP firmware is that certain games you have will not work on your PSP with the latest firmware. There are forums dedicated to PSP downgrading as a lot of people want to revert back to their old firmware.

"How to put music on your PSP?" has been asked countless times and using PSP interface it is as easy as transferring files to your USB thumb drives. Hope this articles helps.

How to Convert Your Videos into PSP Format -The 1-2-3 Way

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Greg_Edward]Greg Edward

Nowadays, a lot of people have got their PSPs and are happy playing all the time and wherever they are, no more boring waiting anywhere. But we are always wanting animals, and we have dominated the “Gaming anywhere”, now people are so lazy to even play the games themselves, wouldn’t it be nice to sit and watch the movies right in your hands anywhere, yes that would be cool. But PSP doesn’t allow videos of "avi" and "divx" format to be played, so sad… only we can convert videos into PSP format.

The Question which I am always asked from the users who are starting to understand PSP is
“How to Convert Videos into PSP Format?”

I have a solution for to convert videos to PSP here, now...  No more time to waste, right away to the content...

Requirements to convert videos to PSP:

a. DVD ripper

b. USB data cable

c. PC

d. 3GP converter

e. Memory Stick loaded into your PSP

f.  PSP Firmware V1.5, (you can rollback to this version using the tools available over the net) and a video ;-)

Steps:

1. Connect your PSP to the pc using the data cable,  now you will see your PSP as a removable drive in your my computer page

2. Now Rip the movie ("avi" or "divx") from your dvd to any of your drives

3. Use the 3GP converter, and select the option of “MP4 for PSP” format and select the required bit rate, frame rate settings etc to your needs, now select the video to be converted, and also give a path for the converted video to be placed...

4. Wait time….. It takes some time to convert your videos. In the meantime create folder called “MP_ROOT” in your PSP drive shown. Then within the “MP_ROOT” folder create a folder with the name “100MNV01”, sorry for such a weird folder name, but SONY PSP requires you to do so…..

5. Now, when the converter has completed converting your video files to PSP MP4 format, go to the location where you’re asked files to be converted. You will see a weird file named something like “M4V01234.MP4.”

6. Now copy that file to the folder path we have created in the 4th step “F:MP_ROOT100MNV01” where F can be your psp drive name created.

7. Disconnect PSP from Your pc, scroll over to videos in PSP menu, to select the video you just copied to the PSP by pressing the ‘o’ button and press ‘o’ again to play the file…
That’s it; you have the steps to convert your Videos into PSP format, Happy Watching anywhere anytime.

But if you are like me and use your little gadget PSP, heavily and crave for a lot of files in your PSP, keep watching movies, playing games, hear music all the time and do not want to waste a lot of time doing all the above steps repeatedly to convert videos into PSP format, believe me it consumes a lot of time from me, to keep my PSP updated. You will need a site to give you unlimited PSP downloads of Full version games, movies, music, software and millions of files, and thus avoid the hassle to convert videos into psp format.

There are a lot sites all over the internet, claiming to give you free downloads of PSP files, but believe me, they are all scams, they spread unbelievable viruses and other malicious tools, into your PSP. Hey, I even lost a whole new PSP (The virus critically affected the firmware) falling for these free to download sites, not to mention their sucking speeds.

So, does all the paid PSP download sites are legit? I am sorry to say… No they are not, there are a lot of sites which run away with your money. But I badly needed my PSP, so just tried out everything possible out there, a lot of sites. Finally found some sites worth their weight in gold, providing a lot of downloads (literally 10s of millions) just for the one time price of a single PSP game. If you want to see my reviews, go to [http://www.pspdownloadsreview.net]

Now follow the steps above, convert the videos to PSP and happily watch them on your PSP or see my reviews and join the site which you find apt for you and avoid the hassle to convert videos into PSP format.
